Bow down to Allah, o my soul
For the absent one has returned
Behold, the farmer has come back from the beautiful field
In his hands, the reaping sickle and the long rake
And on his shoulders, a heavy bundle of wheat
So he is tired and in his eyes are traces of blaze
Bow down to Allah, o my soul
For the absent one has returned
Bow down to Allah and repent
For a while, remembering the torment
Before the ghosts of mist crawl through the valleys
Recall memories
Of tormenting times
Your past wasn’t like the present
Anxious and sad
Bow down to Allah, o my soul
For the absent one has returned
Hear the bells in the chapel of the convent of nuns
The valley carries their echo
To the ascetic souls
In it are affectionate voices
And remnants of moans
The nuns of the convent offered
In front of the cross
Bow down to Allah, o my soul
For the absent one has returned
