لاno خَيرَgood فيهِمin them وَلَكِنand yet شَرُّهُمtheir evil عَمَمُall-pervading
لا خَيرَ فيهِم وَلَكِن شَرُّهُم عَمَمُ
Nothing in this world has troubled my soul except a few people.
Nothing saddens my soul in this life but a horde,
Nothing in this world has grieved my soul save a certain group,
There is no good in them, yet their evil is all-pervading.
There's no good in them, nay their evil spreads.
In whom no good resides, yet their evil is all-encompassing.

فَلَيسَ تُنشَرُ حَتّى تُنشَرُ الرِمُّ
Their consciences died within them from selfishness.
Their consciences died, full of selfishness,
Their consciences have died within them out of selfishness,
So they will not be revived until decayed bones are revived.
Never to revive, until they decay and fade.
And they shall not be revived until the decayed bones rise.

إِلّا الشَراهَةُ وَالإيثارُ وَالنَهَمُ
Their characters are vile—or they have no character at all,
Their morals are bad, if morals they have,
Their nature is foul, or rather, they possess no virtue,
Except greed, preference, and insatiable hunger.
Except greed, preferring self, and voracity.
Save for avidity, self-preference, and voracious greed.

When they see the image of the dinar plainly displayed,
When they see the image of a shining coin,
When they see the image of the Dinar displayed before them,
They all fall prostrate upon their chins.
They all bow down prostrate, to their chins.
They fall down in prostration upon their chins, every one.

They have sworn that they will associate no partners with it.
They swore they do not associate with Him,
They have sworn that they ascribe no partners to it;
Wretched is the god, and wretched the people and the oath!
Wretched is the god, the folk and the oath.
Wretched is the god, wretched the people, and wretched the oath.
