Both complain of thirst
١. خصْرٌ نحيفٌ ولَمىً ذابِلٌ
هَذا وهَذا يَشكُوانِ الظَما
2. One has a cool spring
The other a turbulent sea
٢. وعند هذا موردٌ باردٌ
وتَحْتَ هذا مَوْجُ بَحْرٍ طَمَا
3. Whoever seeks water from either
Truly deserves pity in my view
٣. من رام رِيّاً بعد ذَا مِنْهُما
فحقُّه عِنديَ أَنْ يُرْحَما
