1. A night of union that cannot be compared to any night
I see the full moon by my full moon on it not bright
١. وليلةِ وصْلٍ لا تقاسُ بلَيْلَةٍ
أَرَى البَدْرَ مِنْ بَدْرِي بِهَا غَيْرَ نيِّرِ
2. Long in step yet how short
So it has belied in deed the word of Kathir
٢. طويلةُ خَطْوٍ وهْي أَيُّ قَصِيرَةٍ
فقد كذَّبَتْ بالفِعْلِ قوْل كُثَيّرِ
