5. She walks in languor, burdened
With sorrow that beauty has weighed on her.

6. The stems complain of her swaying gait
For that beauty has adorned her.

7. Shy of cheek, she chided the roses,
So the blooms chided her, making her shy.

8. She appears and slays with a glance those who covet her
And wearies those who admire her.

9. O you who have overindulged in a turban,
You have ventured far in passionโ€™s folly!

10. For natural disposition has enthralled him,
And nature altogether has enthralled her.

11. You have delighted rightly in her company,
And suffered untruth and yearning for her.

12. You recalled the bough's excuse for bending,
Yet forgot that the bough had bent her.

13. And if I recognized her nobility,
I shall thank her for her nobility.

You would have seen her and seen her home.

15. By God, the night of union that killed me -
How short it was, and how long!

16. How it kept me awake, and gave me sleep,
Roused me, and made me oblivious!

17. I embraced her presence and her absence,
And kissed her first and her last.

18. In her cheeks, I deemed gold as paltry
As the youth she lavished it on.

19. She disdained it and more - a bride
Whom destiny had sent me.

20. Blessings upon her traces - blessings!
The clouds rained by her coming and going.

21. He raised her above all others in merit,
But then lowered her with his hands.

22. His munificence covered the stages for me
And generosity provided and sent her.

ูˆุงู„ุฌูˆุฏู ุฒูˆูŽู‘ุฏู‡ุง ูˆุฃูŽุฑุณูŽู„ู‡ุง

23. A gift! The generous approved it,
Though the guide of righteousness went astray.

ูขูฃ. ู‡ุจุฉูŒ ุฌุจูŠุฑู ุงู„ูุถู„ู ุญุงุฒูŽ ุจู‡ุง
ุถู„ูŽู‘ุช ุฏู„ูŠู„ู ุงู„ุจูŽุฑูู‘ ุฃูŽูˆุตูŽู„ู‡ุง

24. The cup is too small to contain her,
And the udder cannot carry her.

ูขูค. ุงู„ุจูŠุฏู ุฃูŽุตู’ุบูŽุฑู ุฃูŽู† ุชุญูŠุทูŽ ุจู‡ุง
ูˆุงู„ุนูŠุณู ุชุนุฌูุฒ ุฃูŽู† ุชูŽุญู…ู„ูŽู‘ู‡ุง

25. She turned not from me disappointed,
That I might incline toward her,

26. Nor was she denied, that I might send for her.
She came unasked, so I approved her,

27. And arrived unprompted, so I perfected her.
Thus have I abandoned all people,

ูˆู‚ุตุฏุชู ูุงุถูู„ู‡ุง ูˆุฃูŽูู’ุถูŽู„ู‡ุง

28. And sought her superior and best.
I have praised her master and darkener,

29. And thanked her Lord, my hope.
Whose hand the clouds still serve,

ูขูฉ. ู…ู† ู„ุง ุชุฒุงู„ ุงู„ุณุญุจู ุชูŽุฎู’ุฏู…ูู‡
ูุงู†ุธุฑ ุฅูุฐุง ู‡ูŽุจูŽุทูŽุช ุชูŽุฐูŽู„ูู‘ู„ูŽู‡ุง

30. Behold them stooping when they descend!
Before whose hand the clouds still weep

ูฃู . ู…ู† ู„ุง ุชูŽุฒุงู„ู ุงู„ุณูู‘ุญุจู ุจุงูƒูŠุฉู‹
ู…ุฐ ุฃูŽุจุตุฑุช ูŠุฏูŽู‡ ูˆุฃูŽู†ู…ูู„ูŽู‡ุง

31. Since they saw it and its fingers!
Who has lodged atop its highest pinnacle,

ูฃูก. ู…ู† ุญู„ูŽู‘ ููŠ ุงู„ุนู„ูŠุงุกู ุฐูุฑู’ูˆุชู‡ุง
ุดูŽุฑูŽูุงู‹ ูˆุญู„ูŽู‘ ุงู„ู†ุฌู…ู ุฃูŽุณู’ููŽู„ู‡ุง

32. Noble, while the star dwells below!
In whose hand is ever a pen

ูฃูข. ู…ู† ู„ุง ูŠุฒุงู„ ุจููƒูŽููู‘ู‡ ู‚ู„ู…ูŒ
ุฃูŽุถู†ู‰ ุงู„ุณูŠูˆููŽ ุจู‡ ูˆุฃูŽู†ุญู„ูŽู‡ุง

33. That has subdued swords and unstrung them,
In whose hand is ever a pen

ูฃูฃ. ู…ู† ู„ุง ูŠุฒุงู„ ุจููƒูŽููู‘ู‡ ู‚ู„ู…ูŒ
ุฃูŽุฐู’ูˆู‰ ุงู„ุฑูู‘ู…ุงุญูŽ ุจู‡ ูˆุฃูŽุฐู’ุจู„ู‡ุง

34. That has subjugated spears and made them wither,
In whose hand is ever a pen

ูฃูค. ู…ู† ู„ุง ูŠุฒุงู„ ุจูƒููู‘ู‡ ู‚ู„ู…ูŒ
ุฃูŽุณุฑูŽ ุงู„ุฃุณููˆุฏูŽ ุจู‡ ูˆุฃูŽุดู’ุจูู„ูŽู‡ุง

35. That has captured lions and made cubs of them!
He threaded phrases of eloquence with it,

ูฃูฅ. ู†ูŽุธูŽู… ุงู„ุนูู‚ููˆุฏูŽ ู…ู† ุงู„ุจูŽูŠูŽุงู†ู ุจู‡
ูˆุจุญูŽูˆู’ู…ูŽุฉู ุงู„ุขุฑุงุกู ูุตูŽู‘ู„ู‡ุง

36. And with sagacious opinions, differentiated them.
Wonders of words he innovated with it,

ูฃูฆ. ูุจุฏุงุฆุนู ุงู„ุฃูŽู‚ูˆุงู„ู ุฃูŽุจู’ุฏูŽุนู‡ุง
ูˆุฃูŽุตูŽุงู„ูŽุฉู ุงู„ุขุฑูŽุงุกู ุฃูŽุตูŽู‘ู„ู‡ุง

37. And authenticity of ideas he grounded with them.
The ministry blossomed when he made it forbidden

ูฃูง. ุฒูŽู‡ูŽุชู ุงู„ูˆุฒูŽุงุฑุฉู ุญูŠู†ูŽ ุญุฑูŽู‘ู…ู‡ุง
ุนู† ู…ูŽู† ูŠูุนู‚ูู‘ุฏู‡ุง ูˆุญู„ูŽู‘ู„ู‡ุง

38. To those who would complicate and validate it.
It rejoiced at the prospect of joining him,

ูฃูจ. ูˆุงุณุชุจุดูŽุฑุช ุจูˆุตุงู„ู‡ ุฌูŽุฐูŽู„ุงู‹
ูุงู†ุธุฑ ู„ู‡ุง ุชู†ุธุฑู’ ุชู‡ู„ูู‘ู„ูŽู‡ุง

39. So behold its thrilled elation!
And it was crippled without him in purpose

ูฃูฉ. ูˆุชุนุทูŽู‘ู„ุช ู…ู† ุบูŠุฑู‡ ุฃูŽู†ูุงู‹
ู…ู†ู‡ุง ูุญู„ุงู‡ุง ูˆุนุทูŽู‘ู„ูŽู‡ุง

40. once he unharnessed and harnessed it.
Kings come to his court in throngs,

ูคู . ุชุฃุชูŠ ุงู„ู…ู„ูˆูƒู ู„ุจุงุจู‡ ุฒูู…ุฑุงู‹
ูุฌู…ููŠุนูู‡ู… ูŠุฑุฏููˆู† ู…ูŽู†ู’ู‡ูŽู„ู‡ุง

41. And all return quenched at his pool.
Perplexities come to him, and he resolves them

ูคูก. ุชุฃุชูŠ ู„ูŽู‡ู ููŠุญูู„ูู‘ ู…ูุดู’ูƒูู„ูŽู‡ุง
ุจุจูŠุงู†ู‡ ูˆูŠูƒูููู‘ ู…ูุนู’ุถูู„ูŽู‡ุง

42. With his lucidity, and dispels their difficulties.
So to him it has entrusted its reins,

ูคูข. ูุฅู„ูŠู‡ ู‚ุฏ ุฃูŽู„ู’ู‚ูŽุช ู…ู‚ุงู„ูุฏู‡ุง
ูˆุนู„ูŠู‡ ู‚ุฏ ุฌูŽุนูŽู„ุชู’ ู…ุนูˆูŽู‘ู„ู‡ุง

43. And on him it has placed its reliance.
He has undertaken its burdens lightly,

ูคูฃ. ูุฃูŽู‚ูŽู„ูŽู‘ ุฃูŽุซู‚ุงู„ุงู‹ ุชูƒู„ูŽู‘ููŽู‡ุง
ูˆุฃูŽุฏูŽุฑูŽู‘ ุฃูŽุฑู’ุฒูŽุงู‚ุงู‹ ุชูƒููŽู‘ู„ู‡ุง

44. And managed its livelihoods cunningly.
And mighty things have become, through his competence,

ูคูค. ูˆุนุธุงุฆู…ูŒ ู‚ุฏ ุตุงุฑ ุฃูŽู‡ูˆู†ู‡ุง
ุจุณุฏุงุฏูู‡ ู…ุง ูƒุงู† ุฃูŽู‡ู’ูˆูŽู„ู‡ุง

45. Less than what had overwhelmed it.
Thus if it has, through his competence, become placid,

ูคูฅ. ูู„ุฆู† ุบุฏูŽุช ุจุณุฏุงุฏูู‡ ุฎูŽูˆู„ุงู‹
ูู„ุฃูŽู†ู‡ ู„ู„ู…ูู„ู’ูƒู ุฎูˆูŽู‘ู„ู‡ุง

46. It is because he has empowered it for kingship.
In fact, it is as though he, in his nobility,

ูคูฆ. ููƒุฃูŽู†ูŽู‘ู‡ ุจู„ ุฅูู†ู‡ ูƒูŽุฑูŽู…ุงู‹
ู„ูุถูŠูŽุงููŽุฉู ุงู„ุฃูŽู…ู’ู„ุงูƒู ุฃูŽู‡ู„ูŽู‘ู‡ุง

47. Has prepared hospitality for realms.
O Kaaba, around which kings circumambulate!

ูคูง. ูŠุง ูƒุนุจุฉู‹ ุทุงู ุงู„ู…ู„ูˆูƒู ุจู‡ุง
ุจู„ ู‚ุจู„ุฉู‹ ุญุฌูŽู‘ ุงู„ุฃูŽู†ุงู…ู ู„ูŽู‡ุง

48. Nay, qibla, to which the people make pilgrimage!
And Eid al-Adha has come to you joyfully,

ูคูจ. ูˆุงูุงูƒูŽ ุนูŠุฏู ุงู„ู†ุญุฑ ู…ุจุชู‡ุฌุงู‹
ุฅูุฐ ู†ูŽุงู„ ู„ู‚ูŠุงู‹ ู…ูู†ู’ูƒ ุฃูŽู…ูŽู‘ู„ู‡ุง

49. Having attained the honor of seeing you, its hope!
And giving glad tidings of pleasure and forgiveness,

ูคูฉ. ูˆู…ุจุดูู‘ุฑุงู‹ ุจุฑุถู‰ ูˆู…ุบูุฑุฉู
ูˆุจู†ุนู…ุฉู ุฌุนู„ุชู’ูƒ ู…ูŽูˆู’ุฆูู„ูŽู‡ุง

50. And blessings that have made you its haven!
So felicitate it, and bestow your best felicitations!
