1. The beauty lit a fire upon your cheeks,
And ignited sparks of tears from me.

2. O you who kindled passion and made me weep,
Seeking refuge in it as it pulled me into its sanctuary.

3. You made the full moons ashamed around me
Jealous and the stars envious of me.

4. By my father, she whom I gave my heart to,
By my choice, but she left me no choice,

5. She forced me to choose to be hers,
So I became compelled yet choosing.

6. Safety, safety is in her love, and from
The fire of her passion, escape, escape.

7. And with my heart, my pact with my heart,
Was a lump, then they made it a house.

8. Neighbors who were good to us even if
They were bad to us and did wrong.

9. They carried the wind in their smiles, but
They were sober while we were drunk.

10. How often we came to her and lived for a time
And were revived by her and died repeatedly.

11. And through her we reached our highest hopes
And cut through the nights made short.

12. I did not make embracing a cloak,
Or make hair into banners.

13. In my home I loved, I did not mourn separation
Agonized, or ask about homelands.

14. I never swore loyalty then traveled, nor
Pleased God then was behind the one I pleased then went away.

15. Then youthfulness departed me, and it’s enough
For you the grey hair of youth for the chaste.

16. I bared youthfulness for others, and still
A person's youth is not a borrowed garment.

17. Grey hair shone stars in my chastity
So I saw the stars a daytime from it.

18. And if when I sought refuge in grey
The Almighty would have been a refuge from it.

19. A King who never stopped saving from
Calamities and their unprecedented tribulations.

20. A King who made great kings
Into troops for Him, nay, into fates.

21. He gifts cities and regions when
He wants to make the gifts flourishing.

22. He is too lofty to bestow high status
On the lowly, or see the flourishing with contempt.

23. King of fate, and Kings of fate
With power, and the worlds with capability.

24. And they acknowledged His grace with hearts
That cannot bear serenity and acknowledgment.

25. So those who confronted God openly resisted
And those hostile to Him battled fate.

26. How many times did His enemies want
To unjustly extinguish God’s Light, but they darkened while He illuminated.

27. They exerted themselves fully but found
No foothold, and grasped no means.

28. And they recoiled when the King singled them out,
Lamenting their deeds and lifespans.

29. What doubt that He is King of creation? And who
Can compete with Him in merit?

30. News in the heavens and earth that traveled,
And happiness in the horizons that spread.

31. A call that sinks recalcitrant souls,
And a path that cools fiery hearts.

32. With traits that rise above
And hands that excel through His grace.

33. You, Master of Kings, and most upright
In lineage and position and pride.

34. You have spread justice for the people and constricted
Injustice so it cannot hatch its guile.

35. The mention of your justice has spread like the sun, but
It has set while the mention does not set.

36. For you is might - how many pillars has it erected?
For you is forbearance - how many faults has it reduced?

37. Words cannot encompass your sublime traits,
And can words encompass the seas?

38. So make the best of the fast by visiting
And honor the visitor with it generously.

39. You will be praised in the most high assembly
For your competing deeds in goodness, kindness, devotion,

40. Humility to God, and seeking forgiveness.
A good deed illuminates until

41. It makes the night into daytime by its glow.
You never ceased fasting from sin in piety

42. So you combined fasting and breakfast.
In it will come to you the opening of Khurasan

43. So do not despair of its gates.
As it has surrendered, fallen, and thrown

44. Its hands down in submission and breaking.
You have lived empowered over fate,

45. Ending rebels and commanding leadership.
A thousand years you remain, and please excuse me,

46. For I said this, and the year and years are but short.
