1. You have brought doom upon your lovers
With a rose for a cheek and a branch for a stature

2. So for the rose of your cheek, how can there be salvation?
And for the branch of your stature, how can there be safety?

3. I was amazed that people died for you
While with your beauty, you are the abode of eternity

4. You disgraced me with disgrace from you
While your coquetry honored me with honor

5. I was smitten with love in this passion
And to me that passion was like profit

6. Al-Hasha said “May I not lose passion”
So I said “May you not lose blame”

7. My eyelids shed water for you
As if my eyelids were the palms of Ibn Mama

8. My killer has thanked death
While my oppressor, I have thanked injustice

9. You took the guardianship of the full moons
And they inaugurated you with the inheritance of Imamate

10. The cheeks' moles are the line of the register
With the covenant, and the mole in it is the mark

11. You have been so generous that you cast off stagnation
And no remnant of worry remained with you

12. The mole amazed me from seeing
Its beauty while it is a mole on the cheek

13. It appeared like a moon, rang like a planet
Flowed like a star and walked like a cloud

14. And they said “We see you have loved masks”
So I said “Yes, and I have asked for a turban”
