1. Two-thirds of the night of perfection has passed,
yet sleep has not shut my eyelids with slumber.
١. مضى الثُّلثان من ليل التَّمامِ
ولم تغمُضْ جُفُونِي بِالمَنَام
2. My eyes in sleep, when it comes upon them,
pass by it like my hearing and blame.
٢. وطرفي في المنامِ إِذَا أَتاهُ
وَوَاتَاهُ كَسَمْعِي والمَلاَمِ
