He said no peace, no truce, today

2. So war arose, what trials held sway!
Incited by that tempting fey visage

3. My cup still mirrors his character
Or turns it to a draught so tender

4. Drunk, he was led, what graciousness!
No other drunkenness compares, I say

5. He made union seem so simple, aye,
Though once the jinn and men did stray

6. And after this, let all now witness,
I’ve reached through fire, paradise’s bliss
