1. O absent one who broke the bond of love
And took joy in distance after being near

2. You left me while yearning ravages
My heart that longs for rest

3. My flowing tears refuse
To let slumber cheat the sleepless eye

4. If my eyes had gone to where you are
I’d have made sleep my provision for the way

5. So come back to the way of grace
For if you return you’ll find love again

6. Leave this enmity, for the nobility
Never attained their goal thereby

7. They stretched out to us hands of friendship
Yet we saw no generosity from them

8. My heart is captive to loving you
I cannot expect it to be set free

9. You hastened my heart to touch estrangement
And so stole away all love

10. O you who sold me for a pittance
To attain what you sought

11. If you come back to me, regret
Will befall those who betrayed me

12. One who lost as I did, from his hands
I wonder, what did he gain?

13. Love suits not the trifling soul
Who discards devotion to don pride
