1. The morning dawn guides him to us, though he's long gone
One day, sorrows will lift from him

2. I saw you with a pale complexion
The paleness being the adornment of the Arab

3. To you, souls and hearts are inclined
Eyes and hearts find joy in you

4. You found solace in distant lands
While the lion on any foreign soil is a stranger

5. You've endured adversities with patience
And sought the healer when disease strikes

6. May Allah reunite us after ages of separation
Where the distant and the near mourn alike

7. It wasn't death, but a departure
That tore at our hearts

8. Every word uttered has beneath it
Solace that penetrates, and a tear that flows

9. You give us excuses, while patience is unsettled
It comes and goes but does not remain

10. The foolish rejoiced at your declining power
Though the wise know better

11. Does the envious fool know
That time keeps watch over him?

12. You came like the gentle rain
Crossing a barren desert land

13. Never did time smile except for you
Since gloom cast its shadow on its brows

14. I swear by what eyes have hidden
And what that splendid stand contains

15. Time was gentle with you despite the betrayers
As sins diminished into nothingness

16. It made your return from these envious ones
As clear as "This one was killed, and this one captured"

17. The hearts of foes burn with rage over you
While you remain serene and steadfast

18. The ignorant rouse futile prayers
To one who does not respond to their call

19. They are but barking seals appealing for high status
But only the noble gain supremacy

20. Long have you stayed in a land
Where wars break out on all sides

21. With a strike, as swords require
And a stab, as spearheads desire

22. With a sword dripping with blood
As if kissing the blade which it wets

23. And your charging every distant high ground
As if the steed under you were provoked

24. And a land, which if raided by nomads
They leave ruined under the tax they impose

25. Ever you stood tall amidst adversities
With your mighty days and those of agony

26. One day your sword does the talking
Another day, your tongue

27. You sought glory for yourself, so seek for us now
High status, for the advocate is eager

28. If you disdain to love us
Then supremacy, for we still love you

29. We are not the same, yet all of us
Appeal to the Divine, awaiting response

30. For us is the prime of youth
While for you is the onset of old age

31. Yet you are the essence of this age
And life without you lacks joy

32. Without you, pride has no taste
Nor does the chill of eminence appeal

33. Can you be content if your glory
Leaves us no share of supremacy?

34. So let not the deceits make you idle
Rise, for every goal is near at hand

35. Urge the seekers, for we are ready
Set matters forth, for we shall repent

36. Why should the supreme not host those who possess
A brimming stream, and meadows ever green?

37. My manners astound you when we meet
So refined and of culture I have been

38. You left me a planted seedling
That grew tall, and branched out

39. I have treasured amazing feats for you
Which my sorrowful heart conveys

40. Keeping your magnificent virtues guarded
Lest faults should ever breach them

41. When narrated by the dishonest
Their wondrous system captivates you

42. And I still hope that amid adversities
The hopeful wishes will bring you to me
