1. O goodness of Najd and beauty of its dwellers
If only they kept the promise they made
١. يا طيبَ نَجدٍ وَحُسنَ ساكِنِهِ
لَو أَنَّهُم أَنجَزوا الَّذي وَعَدوا
2. They said, as our mounts were readied
My heart yearns for them yet does not return
٢. قالوا وَقَد قُرِّبَت رَكائِبُنا
وَالقَلبُ يَظما بِهِم وَلا يَرِدُ
3. Leaving our land, I told them
My heart and body grieve for Najd
٣. أَتارِكٌ أَرضَنا فَقُلتُ لَهُم
أَنجَدَ قَلبي وَأَعرَقَ الجَسَدُ
