O dweller of the tomb that we lamented over,

1. O dweller of the tomb that we lamented over,
Yet time against our will restored you.

2. We would cry for you, if our tears could mend
The course of fate or make the seasons pause.

3. You went to your place nearer than ours, so why
Does the distance seem so far and seeing you impossible?

4. If not for the downpour of tears and the wakefulness of sorrow,
Eyelids would have buried you in their depths.
