حتّى أُصَادِفَ مالاً أَوْ يُقَالَ فَتىً
لاقَىmet الرَّدَىdeath بَيْنَamong أَسْيافٍswords وأَرْمَاحِand spears
لاقَى الرَّدَى بَيْنَ أَسْيافٍ وأَرْمَاحِ
Until I find wealth, or it is said: “A young man
Until I meet death or it is said a man
met death amid swords and spears.”
Has met his doom amidst swords and spears
