إنَّ الرَّسُولَ لَمْ يَزَلْ يقولُ

إنَّ الرَّسُولَ لَمْ يَزَلْ يقولُ

والخَيْرُ ما قالَ بهِ الرَّسُولُ

والخَيْرُ ما قالَ بهِ الرَّسُولُ

Indeed, the Messenger never ceased to say,

The Messenger has never ceased to say,

and goodness is what the Messenger proclaimed:

And the best is what the Messenger said,

إنّكَ مِنِّي يا عَلِيُّ الأَبي

إنّكَ مِنِّي يا عَلِيُّ الأَبي

بحيثُ مِنْ مُوسَأهُ هَرونُ النّبِي

بحيثُ مِنْ مُوسَأهُ هَرونُ النّبِي

Indeed, you are to me, O unbowed Ali,

You O Ali are from me, O father of purity

as Aaron the prophet was to his Moses.

Just as Aaron was from Moses the Prophet

لكنّهُ ليسَ نَبِيٌّ بَعْدي

لكنّهُ ليسَ نَبِيٌّ بَعْدي

فأنتَ خيرُ العالمينَ عِندي

فأنتَ خيرُ العالمينَ عِندي

But there is no prophet after me,

But he is not a prophet after me

so you are the best of all beings in my eyes.

So you are the best of people in my eyes

وأنتَ مِنِّي الزِّرُّ مِنْ قَميصي

وأنتَ مِنِّي الزِّرُّ مِنْ قَميصي

وما لِمَنْ عاداكَ مِنْ مَحِيصِ

وما لِمَنْ عاداكَ مِنْ مَحِيصِ

And you are to me the button of my shirt,

And you are to me like the button on my shirt

and whoever is hostile to you has no escape.

And there is no escape for whoever opposes you

وأنتَ لي أَخٌ وأنتَ الصِّهْرُ

وأنتَ لي أَخٌ وأنتَ الصِّهْرُ

زَوَّجَكَ الذي إليهِ الأَمْرُ

زَوَّجَكَ الذي إليهِ الأَمْرُ

And you are my brother, and you are my son-in-law;

You are my brother and you are my son-in-law

He to whom command belongs has married you—

Married by the One to whom the matter belongs

رَبُّ العُلَى بفاطِمِ الزَّهْراءِ

رَبُّ العُلَى بفاطِمِ الزَّهْراءِ

ذاتِ الهُدى سَيِّدَةِ النِّسَاءِ

ذاتِ الهُدى سَيِّدَةِ النِّسَاءِ

the Lord of the heights—to Fatimah al-Zahra,

The Lord of Highness to Fatima the radiant

possessed of guidance, the mistress of women.

The lady of guidance, the best of women

أَوَّلُ خَلْقٍ جاءَ فيها خاطِبا

أَوَّلُ خَلْقٍ جاءَ فيها خاطِبا

عنكَ إليَّ جائياً وذاهِبا

عنكَ إليَّ جائياً وذاهِبا

The first created being came seeking her hand,

The first of creation who came asking for her hand

on your behalf, coming to me and departing.

Coming and going between me and you

وقالَ قَدْ قَضَى إلهُكَ العَلي

وقالَ قَدْ قَضَى إلهُكَ العَلي

بِأَنْ تُزَوَّجَ البَتُولُ بِعَلي

بِأَنْ تُزَوَّجَ البَتُولُ بِعَلي

And he said: Your God, the Most High, has decreed

And said your God has decreed O Ali

that al-Batul be married to Ali.

That the maiden marries Ali

فَزَيَّنَ الجَنّاتِ أَحْلَى زِينَهْ

فَزَيَّنَ الجَنّاتِ أَحْلَى زِينَهْ

واجْتَلَتِ الحُورُ على سَكينَه

واجْتَلَتِ الحُورُ على سَكينَه

So He adorned the gardens with the sweetest adornment,

So He adorned the gardens in the best adornment

and the houris appeared in tranquility.

And the maidens rejoiced in tranquility

ولاحَتِ الأَنْوارُ مِنْهُ السّاطِعَهْ

ولاحَتِ الأَنْوارُ مِنْهُ السّاطِعَهْ

وَصَفَّ أَمْلاكَ السّماءِ السّابِعَهْ

وَصَفَّ أَمْلاكَ السّماءِ السّابِعَهْ

And the radiant lights shone forth from Him,

And the shining lights emanated

and He arrayed the angels of the seventh heaven.

And the angels of the seventh heaven lined up

وقُسمْتُ عن أَمر إلهي أَخْطُبُ

وقُسمْتُ عن أَمر إلهي أَخْطُبُ

فيهمْ وأَعْطاهُمْ كَما قَدْ طَلَبُوا

فيهمْ وأَعْطاهُمْ كَما قَدْ طَلَبُوا

And I was assigned, at my God's command, to deliver an address

And I was tasked by God's command to ask for her hand

among them, and He gave them what they had requested.

And give it to them as they had asked

ثُمَّ قَضَى اللّهُ إلى الجِنانِ

ثُمَّ قَضَى اللّهُ إلى الجِنانِ

أَنْ يُجْتَنَى الدَّاني مِنَ الأَغْصانِ

أَنْ يُجْتَنَى الدَّاني مِنَ الأَغْصانِ

Then God commanded the gardens

Then Allah decreed to the Gardens

that what lay within reach be plucked from the branches.

To be adorned with branches

فأَمْطَرَتْهُمْ حلَلاً وحَلْيا

فأَمْطَرَتْهُمْ حلَلاً وحَلْيا

حتى رَعَوْا ذلكَ مِنْها رَعْيا

حتى رَعَوْا ذلكَ مِنْها رَعْيا

So they showered them with robes and jewelry,

So it rained jewels and finery on them

until they grazed upon those gifts from the gardens.

Until they grazed on it fully

فَمَنْ حَوَى الأَكْثَرَ مِنْهُنَّ افْتَخَرْ

فَمَنْ حَوَى الأَكْثَرَ مِنْهُنَّ افْتَخَرْ

بالفَضْلِ فِيما حازَه على الأُخَرْ

بالفَضْلِ فِيما حازَه على الأُخَرْ

So whoever gathered the most of them boasted

So whoever gathered the most from it was proud

of his advantage over the others in what he had acquired.

Of excelling over the others in what he had gained

فَرُدَّ مَنْ يخطبُ فاللّهُ قَضَى

فَرُدَّ مَنْ يخطبُ فاللّهُ قَضَى

بِأَنْ تكونَ زَوْجَةً للمُرْتَضَى

بِأَنْ تكونَ زَوْجَةً للمُرْتَضَى

So turn away whoever seeks her hand, for God has decreed

So whoever came asking was turned back, for Allah decreed

that she be a wife to al-Murtada.

That she would be the bride of the Chosen One

وَقَدْ حَبَانِي منكُمُ السِّبْطَيْنِ

وَقَدْ حَبَانِي منكُمُ السِّبْطَيْنِ

هُمَا بِحلي العَرْشِ كالقُرْطَيْنِ

هُمَا بِحلي العَرْشِ كالقُرْطَيْنِ

And He has granted me, through you, the two grandsons;

And He granted me the two grandsons through you

they are like two earrings among the Throne's ornaments.

They are the adornments of the Throne like two earrings

فالحَمْدُ لِلّهِ على ما قَدْ حَبَا

فالحَمْدُ لِلّهِ على ما قَدْ حَبَا

لِخَمْسَةِ الأَشْبَاحِ أَصْحابِ العَبَا

لِخَمْسَةِ الأَشْبَاحِ أَصْحابِ العَبَا

So praise be to God for what He has bestowed

So praise be to Allah for what He has granted

upon the five figures, the People of the Cloak.

To the five embodiments, the people of the cloak

هُمُ لِمَنْ والاهُمُ الأَمانُ

هُمُ لِمَنْ والاهُمُ الأَمانُ

إِذْ كانَ فيهمْ يَكْمُلُ الإِيمانُ

إِذْ كانَ فيهمْ يَكْمُلُ الإِيمانُ

They are safety for whoever is loyal to them,

They are safety for whoever takes them as allies

since it was in them that faith became complete.

For with them faith is perfected

وهُمْ يَدُعُّونَ الذي لَهُمْ قَلَى

وهُمْ يَدُعُّونَ الذي لَهُمْ قَلَى

للنّارِ دَعّاً حيثُ كانَ المُصْطَلَى

للنّارِ دَعّاً حيثُ كانَ المُصْطَلَى

And they thrust whoever has hated them

And they call upon the One for whom they yearn

into the Fire with a violent shove, where the burning-place is.

To protect from the Fire those who seek refuge

وهُمْ هُداةُ الخَلْقِ للرَّشَادِ

وهُمْ هُداةُ الخَلْقِ للرَّشَادِ

والفَوْزِ في المَبْدَأِ والمَعَادِ

والفَوْزِ في المَبْدَأِ والمَعَادِ

And they are creation's guides to the right way

And they guide the people to righteousness

and to triumph in the beginning and the return.

And success in the beginning and the end.
