أَحْمَرٌred كالخِضَابِlike dye فيin صَفْحِthe side of هادِيهِits neck
أَحْمَرٌ كالخِضَابِ في صَفْحِ هادِيهِ
مِنَamong الهادِياتِthe necks مِثْلُlike الخِضَابِdye
مِنَ الهادِياتِ مِثْلُ الخِضَابِ
Red as dye along the side of its neck,
among necks, like dye.
وكأنِّيand as though I أَرْمِيI pelt الهِضَابَthe hills علىat حِينِthe time of
وكأنِّي أَرْمِي الهِضَابَ على حِينِ
وَنَاهُits weariness بِقْطعَةٍwith a fragment مِنْof هِضَابِhills
وَنَاهُ بِقْطعَةٍ مِنْ هِضَابِ
And it is as though I pelt the hills, in the hour of
its weariness, with a fragment of hills.
وكأنِّيand as though I رَفَعْتُI raised بالبَرْقِwith lightning شَمْلاcloaks (word continues)
وكأنِّي رَفَعْتُ بالبَرْقِ شَمْلا
تيmy (completes the preceding word) لَمّاwhen ثَنَيْتُهاI folded them بعقابِwith an eagle
تي لَمّا ثَنَيْتُها بعقابِ
And it is as though I raised with lightning the cloaks
of mine, when I folded them over an eagle.
