فَتَنَفَّسَتْ في البيتِ إِذْ مزِجَتْ

فَتَنَفَّسَتْ في البيتِ إِذْ مزِجَتْ

بالماءِ واسْتَلّتْ سَنَا اللّهَبِ

Then it breathed through the house when mixed

With water, and drew forth the flame’s radiance,

كَتَنَفُّسِ الرَّيْحانِ خالَطهُ

كَتَنَفُّسِ الرَّيْحانِ خالَطهُ

مِنْ وَرْدِ جُورٍ ناضِرُ الشُّعَبِ

مِنْ وَرْدِ جُورٍ ناضِرُ الشُّعَبِ

Like the breath of sweet basil mingled

With fresh-branched roses of Jur.
