I see hairs upon my eyebrows that have sprouted,

I see strands above my eyebrows growing

all together, in pairs, in pairs.

ضللت أهاجي بهن الكلا

ب أحسبهُنّ سورا قياما

I have gone astray, taunting the dogs with them;

With speech I confused them

I take them for walls standing upright.

I thought of them as a fence erected

وأحسب أنفي إذا ما مش

وأحسب أنفي إذا ما مش

يت شخصا أمامي رآني فقاما

يت شخصا أمامي رآني فقاما

And I take my nose, whenever I walk,

And I thought if my nose walked

for a person before me who saw me and stood up.

It would see a person in front of it, and stand erect
