  1. أكرم الضيف والنزيل وإن ب

    ت خميصا يضُمّ بعضي بعضي

    I honor the guest and the lodger, even if I spend the night

    hungry, one part of me clasping another.

  2. أطعنُ الفارسَ المدجّجِ بالرُم

    ح فألقيه لليَدَين وأمضي

    I stab the fully armored horseman with the spear,

    then cast him down onto his hands and go on.
