لأُرَوِّيَنَّ الدرهَ مَدائحاً

لأُرَوِّيَنَّ الدرهَ مَدائحاً

كالسحرِ إلا أنهن حلالُ

كالسحرِ إلا أنهن حلالُ

I shall surely make Time recite poems of praise,

Like sorcery, except that they are lawful.

مدحٌ يَعُمُّ الخافقَيْنَ أَقلُّه

مدحٌ يَعُمُّ الخافقَيْنَ أَقلُّه

وكأنه من راحتيكَ نوالُ

وكأنه من راحتيكَ نوالُ

Praise whose least portion encompasses East and West,

And it is as though it were a gift from your two palms.
