بُورِكblessed be فيin بُرِّناour wheat ومنand whoever زَرَعَهْsowed it
بُورِك في بُرِّنا ومن زَرَعَهْ
والحمدُand praise والشكرُand thanks للذيto the one who صَنَعَهْmade it
والحمدُ والشكرُ للذي صَنَعَهْ
Blessed be our wheat and whoever sowed it.
And praise and thanks to the one who made it.
وَفَّرهmade it plentiful خِصْبُfertility عامِناour year فيكاso ... almost (continued)
وَفَّره خِصْبُ عامِنا فيكا
دُ(completes 'almost') المرءُthe person يَحْوِىobtains منfrom قَمْحِهits wheat شِبَعَهhis fill
دُ المرءُ يَحْوِى من قَمْحِه شِبَعَه
Our year's bounty made it plentiful, so that
a man can almost get his fill of its wheat.
كأنماas though كلُّevery حبةٍgrain منهof it
كأنما كلُّ حبةٍ منه
فيin الشكلshape واللونand color والجفاand hardness وَدَعَهa cowrie shell
في الشكل واللون والجفا وَدَعَه
It is as though every grain of it
were a cowrie shell in shape, color, and hardness.
