فوق وردٍ من وجنتيك أَطَلاَّ
Beauty made a sun rise from your brow,
The beauty rises like a sun from your forehead,
Above roses peeping out from your two cheeks.
Above the roses of your cheeks it rose.

دِ جَفافاً فمدَّ بالشَّعْر ظِلا
As though the cheek-down feared the roses
As if the clouds feared the roses would dry,
Would dry out, so it spread shade with its hair.
So they stretched their hair to cast a shade.
