And one night the full moon kept exposing me,

Out of spite toward my moon, for he kept putting it to shame.

And it had reached fullness at the highest of its rising points,

Hoping to steal some grace from him for its own gain.

And the garden reveals to us, from its secrets,

A subtle meaning, and the wind's speech explains it.

And whenever there wafts to us from its blossoms

A fragrance, a breeze of musk from us wafts back to it.

And the tightness of our embrace had brought us to

A limit whose widest gap was like that between closed eyelids.

As though our two hearts sought to meet

Without intermediaries, over some matter we would set right.
