لنا قبل رَوْعاتِ الفِراقِ مَعاد
O our beloved ones, will the nights that passed
for us before the terrors of parting return?
وهلand whether (question marker) يمتلىfills قلبيmy heart سروراwith joy بنظرةٍat a glance
وهل يمتلى قلبي سرورا بنظرةٍ
فتَرْقَاso cease flowing دموعٌtears أوor يقرَّfinds rest فؤادa heart
فتَرْقَا دموعٌ أو يقرَّ فؤاد
And will my heart fill with joy at a glance,
so that tears cease or a heart finds rest?
