I do not unjustly blame parting; my state is as it was.
I do not blame the one I love if he is absent or close
It is all the same whether the one I love is absent or near.
Both are the same to me if he whom I love is lost or near

Closeness brought me nothing beyond what I already knew
Nearness did not add to what I already knew
except grief, anguish, and sorrow.
Except more anguish, sighs, and grief for me

And distance is easier than closeness that renews for me,
And distance is easier than a nearness that renews
alongside what I suffer, rejection and abandonment.
Along with what I endure, estrangement and separation

There remains in me little patience to protect
love's secret; otherwise it will become a public declaration.

Why am I troubled by a stubborn arrogant one
who is pleased when I spend the night angry at abandonment?
Who is content when I spend the night in estrangement, wrathful

Would not have left a human being in distress and rejection

O you who falsely claim to be lovesick
unlike them, I do not claim it with falsehood and fabrication.
I do not pretend sickness like you, or lies and falsehoods

Is rejection, your scolding and hostility towards me
