Is it not among time's changing fortunes that separation should return

with them, and nearness one day prevail over distance?

Yes, time's changing fortunes hold all that I see,

but they have deliberately overlooked my lot.

For, by God, I do not know with which of her arrows

she shot at me; in our eyes, not one ever fails.

Was it with her neck, or where her sash lies? And indeed I

suspect her eyes, along with her coal-black, curly hair.
