يُعرَفُ بِالكُنيَةِ لا الوالِدِ
Indeed, Abu Saʿd is a young poet,
Indeed Abu Sa'd is a young poet
Known by his kunya, not by his father's name.
Known by his nickname, not his father

ضَلَّ عَن المَنشودِ وَالناشِدِ
He seeks a father among the tribe of Maʿadd,
Who recites in Ma'dan neighborhood of Abaa
Lost to both the sought and the seeker.
Lost from the desired and the reciter

Who guided a lost one to his seeker
