أَرى مِنّا قَريباً بَيتَ زَورٍ

أَرى مِنّا قَريباً بَيتَ زَورٍ

وَزَورٌ لا يَزورُ وَلا يُزارُ

وَزَورٌ لا يَزورُ وَلا يُزارُ

I see Zawr's house near us.

I see among us soon a house of falsehood

And Zawr neither visits nor is visited.

And falsehood neither visits nor is visited

وَلا يُهدي وَلا يُهدي إِلَيهِ

وَلا يُهدي وَلا يُهدي إِلَيهِ

وَلَيسَ كَذاكَ في العَرَبِ الجِوارُ

وَلَيسَ كَذاكَ في العَرَبِ الجِوارُ

And he neither gives gifts nor has gifts given to him.

It gives no gifts, and none are given unto it

Such is not neighborliness among the Arabs.

Such is not the way of good neighbors amongst the Arabs
