هُوَيِّنَةِ الخَطبِ فَاِلتاثَها
I came to Ibn Imran with a request,
I came to the son of Imran for a need
A simple affair, yet he delayed it.
That was easy to obtain but he made it difficult

My steeds remain at his door,
My horses will remain at his door
Dropping dung and eating their own dung,
Defecating and eating their fodder

Famished, complaining to me of hunger.
My thin horses complain to me of hunger
Ibn Imran has prolonged their starvation.
The son of Imran has prolonged their starvation
