أَتانا طالِباً وَعراً

أَتانا طالِباً وَعراً

فَأَعقَبناهُ بِالوَعرِ

فَأَعقَبناهُ بِالوَعرِ

He came to us seeking roughness,

He came to us seeking hardship

so we repaid him with roughness.

So we followed with more hardship

وَتَرناهُ فَلَم يَرضَ

وَتَرناهُ فَلَم يَرضَ

فَأَعقَبناهُ بِالوَترِ

فَأَعقَبناهُ بِالوَترِ

We wronged him, but he was not satisfied,

And we left him unsatisfied

so we repaid him with injury.

So we followed with isolation
