جِئتُ بِلا حُرمَةٍ وَلا سَبَبِ

جِئتُ بِلا حُرمَةٍ وَلا سَبَبِ

إِلَيكَ إِلّا بِحُرمَةِ الأَدَبِ

إِلَيكَ إِلّا بِحُرمَةِ الأَدَبِ

I have come with neither a claim nor a connection,

To you, save the claim of letters.

فَاِقضِ ذِمامي فَإِنَّني رَجُلٌ

فَاِقضِ ذِمامي فَإِنَّني رَجُلٌ

غَيرُ مُلِحٍّ عَلَيكَ في الطَلَبِ

غَيرُ مُلِحٍّ عَلَيكَ في الطَلَبِ

So grant me my due, for I am a man

Who does not press you insistently with requests.
