وَإِنّيand indeed I لَأَرثيsurely pity لِلكَريمِfor the noble man إِذاwhen غَداgoes forth
عَلىin pursuit of مَطمَعٍsomething hoped for عِندَin the possession of اللَئيمِthe base man يُطالِبُهhe asks him for it
Indeed, I pity the noble man when he goes forth,
Seeking a favor from a base man, asking him for it.
وَأَرثيand I pity لَهُfor him فيin مَوقِفِa position of السوءِhumiliation عِندَهُbefore him
كَماjust as قَدalready رَثَواthey pitied لِلطَرفِfor the noble steed وَالعِلجُwhile the boor راكِبُهis riding it
And I pity him in his humiliating position before him,
Just as they have pitied the noble steed with a boor astride it.
