هَناكُم أَنكُم قَومٌ كِرامُ

هَناكُم أَنكُم قَومٌ كِرامُ

وَأَنَّ النَومَ بَينَكُمُ طَعامُ

وَأَنَّ النَومَ بَينَكُمُ طَعامُ

Congratulations on being a generous people,

There you are, O generous folk,

and on sleep being food among you.

And sleep amidst you is a feast,

أَتاكُم زائِرٌ فَأَجَعتُموهُ

أَتاكُم زائِرٌ فَأَجَعتُموهُ

فَلَمّا نامَ أَشبَعَهُ المَنامُ

فَلَمّا نامَ أَشبَعَهُ المَنامُ

A visitor came to you, so you made him go hungry;

A visitor came to you famished,

then, when he slept, his dream sated him.

So when he slept, slumber sated him.
