وَداعُكَfarewell to you مِثلُlike وَداعِfarewell الرَبيعِspring
وَداعُكَ مِثلُ وَداعِ الرَبيعِ
وَفَقدُكَand losing you مِثلُlike اِفتِقادِmissing الدِيَمthe steady rains
وَفَقدُكَ مِثلُ اِفتِقادِ الدِيَم
Bidding you farewell is like bidding farewell to spring.
Your farewell is like the farewell of spring
And losing you is like missing the steady rains.
And your absence is like missing rain

Peace be upon you—for how much loyalty
Peace be upon you, and how much loyalty
Or generosity of yours we part with!
We part from you, whether from generosity or nobility
