Hear! You two, convey a message from me to the Imam,
a message from one far away, remote from his presence:
بِأَنَّto the effect that اِبنَson of وَهَبٍWahb حينَwhen يَشحَجُbrays شاحِجٌa braying beast
يُمِرُّhe runs عَلىacross القِرطاسِthe paper أَقلامَpens غالِطِa blunderer
that Ibn Wahb, whenever a braying beast brays,
runs a blunderer's pens across the paper.

He loved the postal mules with a deep-seated love,
which obliges him to record them in the stipulations.

And were it not for the Commander of the Faithful,
the postal mules' penises would have become stuffing for the bags.
