تَخالُyou think أَحياناًsometimes بِهِin him غَفلَةًheedlessness
تَخالُ أَحياناً بِهِ غَفلَةً
مِنfrom كَرَمِnobility النَفسِthe soul وَماand how أَعلَمَهknowledgeable he is
مِن كَرَمِ النَفسِ وَما أَعلَمَه
At times you think him heedless,
Sometimes out of self-pride, inadvertently
From nobility of soul—yet how knowledgeable he is!
He behaves with arrogance, though he knows it not
