كَأَنَّماas though نَفسُهُhis soul مِنfrom طولِthe length of حَيرَتِهاits bewilderment
كَأَنَّما نَفسُهُ مِن طولِ حَيرَتِها
مِنهاfrom it عَلىover نَفسِهِhis own self يَومَthe day of الوَغىbattle رَصَدُa watcher
مِنها عَلى نَفسِهِ يَومَ الوَغى رَصَدُ
As though his soul, from its long bewilderment,
As if his soul, perplexed for so long,
Were a watcher from within itself over him on the day of battle.
Kept watch over itself on the day of the raid
