عَيرٌan ass رَأىsaw أَسَدَthe lion of العَرينِthe lair فَهالَهُso it terrified him
عَيرٌ رَأى أَسَدَ العَرينِ فَهالَهُ
حَتّىuntil إِذاwhen وَلّىturned away تَوَلّىwent off يَنهَقُbraying
حَتّى إِذا وَلّى تَوَلّى يَنهَقُ
An ass saw the lion of the lair and was terrified;
A caravan saw a lion in its den, so it shied away,
Then, when the lion turned away, the ass went off braying.
But when the lion turned away, the caravan resumed its braying.
