أَبَعدَ مِصرِ وَبَعدَ مُطَّلِبِ

أَبَعدَ مِصرِ وَبَعدَ مُطَّلِبِ

تَرجو الغِنى إِنَّ ذا مِنَ العَجَبِ

تَرجو الغِنى إِنَّ ذا مِنَ العَجَبِ

After Egypt and after Muṭṭalib,

After Egypt and after Muttalib

do you hope for wealth? This is indeed a wonder.

You hope for wealth, that is strange indeed

إِن كاثَرونا جِئنا بِأُسرَتِهِ

إِن كاثَرونا جِئنا بِأُسرَتِهِ

أَو واحَدونا جِئنا بِمُطَّلِبِ

أَو واحَدونا جِئنا بِمُطَّلِبِ

If they vie with us in numbers, we bring his clan;

Whether they bring us in chains

or if they challenge us one on one, we bring Muṭṭalib.

Or single us out, we come for Muttalib
