ماnot زالَceased عِصيانُناour disobedience لِلَّهِto God يُسلِمُناhands us over

حَتّى دُفِعنا إِلى يَحيى وَدينارِ
Our disobedience to God kept handing us over,
Our disobedience of God still leaves us
until we were delivered to Yahya and Dinar—
Until we are driven to Yahya and Dinar

To Ulayjin, whose fruits are not cut off
who have so often prostrated themselves before the sun and fire.
Long have they bowed to sun and fire
