6. Exalted are You, O Lord! How many jesters
With Your signs, would not listen to it

7. And Your majesty is supreme! How many souls
Defied You, so You cut its limbs

8. And how many nations, changed what was in it
So You changed, O Lord, its conditions

9. And it slipped because of its deeds and became
Seeing in earthquakes, its deeds

10. Hopefully it will return to its sanity
So first for it, then first for it

11. Safety! Behold, O sky, stop
For the earth has poured its floods

12. And O earth, have mercy! Do not swallow
The country’s children and infants

13. And O torrent, stop, and be modest, for
In your way are livers that are grieved for

14. As if you and the people are their snakes
As if dead, you have come its undertaker

15. Enough has flowed! Is enough what has flowed?
Is it enough for Algeria, what befell it?

16. And O orators! Gently with this country
Did you not see, O orators, its burdens?

17. Did you not see it, between ignorance and poverty
Dragging the tail of death?

18. And what did the upstarts do about it
When you entrusted its ignorant people

19. So a nation does not deserve elevation
That makes frogs its heroes

20. And how can it seek survival without
A country that counts geckos as its champions

21. And its matter is not eloquent
And its torturer has become its crony

22. And there is no good in it if it does not revolt
To blow up with fire its shackles
