Arise, and act for reform, we are in a state

2. We lost faith, and the edifice collapsed
Minds grew dim, from originality

3. We followed hatreds, and denied glories
After we were lords, we became rabble

4. We indulged in wines, and debauchery spread
The fires of evils, blazing among us

5. With neither honest nor clean conscience
And our deeds are counterfeit, intensely dark

6. While one has let his hair grow long
Like a madman, among men

7. Walking distorted, crooked garment
Cross-eyed, beetle-browed

8. And twisted thoughts, despicable ethics
And limping feet, with many flaws

9. You hear nothing, my beloved, but talk of guilt
And little dignity, and insulting of majesty

10. The girl adorns herself, like a monkey
Baring her legs, she has become an owl

11. She walks the coast, like a wandering man
Among the great, always strolling

12. And the mother raises, covers and hides
And says, my love, no blemish

13. While the poor father sulks, his eyes
His heart yearning, his eyes welling

14. An era of prosperity, in which we wore shame
And wasted the home, and became refugees

15. We sold Palestine, and the ambition and religion
And we were fooled by the right, and became idols

16. And we drank hypocrisy, and bought discord
And slaughtered morals, following misguidance

17. And we exceeded limits, and the deceiver robbed
A crooked generation, its honor scraped away

18. Oh Lord, have mercy on the nation
And save the generation of today, from ignorance
