1. We attacked Mas'ud ibn 'Amr for his saying
To Labbah, "Do not release Nafi' from prison,

2. Nor should you release 'Atiyyah and his son."
So we prepared for him a draught of poison to drink.

3. He held an exalted position among the Azd,
And prevented what he desired in the matter.

4. Tamim said, "We are the avengers of his blood,
And will not desist until they bite their fingers,

5. And make war on the Azd while the Azd are embers,
When they stir them, affairs will become turbulent."

6. Say to Tamim, "What you wanted with a lie,
Will make the lands because of you in ruin."
