ياO مُلبسيyou who clothe me حُللَrobes العوارفِacts of kindness هذهthese
حُسناكَyour kindness أسنَىmost radiant ماwhat سننتَyou made customary منof النّدىgenerosity
O you who clothe me in these robes of kindness,
O you who clothed me in the garments of the gnostics,
Your kindness is the brightest bounty you have made customary.
Your beauty has adorned me more than any dew has adorned.
أوردتنيyou brought me to بحرَa sea الفواضلِfavors قاذفاًcasting forth
دُررِpearls الفضائلِvirtues ناقعاًquenching منّيfrom me الصدّىthirst
You brought me to a sea of favors, casting forth
You carried me into the sea of sublime virtues,
Pearls of virtue, quenching my thirst.
Tossing the pearls of noble deeds that echo from me.
وأريتنيand you showed me سِيرَways الملوكِthe kings بأسرِهمall of them
فيin مجلسٍa gathering طولاًin loftiness يطولُsurpasses in height الفَرقداFarqad
And you showed me the ways of all the kings,
And you showed me the conduct of all kings in their entirety
In a gathering whose loftiness surpasses Farqad.
In a session of unending separation.
وفهمتُand I understood ايماناًa faith جميلَbeautiful جلالهِits majesty
لمّاwhen تبيّنَbecame clear ليto me أماراتُsigns الهُدىright guidance
And I understood a faith, beautiful in its majesty,
And I understood the beautiful, majestic faith
When the signs of right guidance became clear to me.
When the signs of guidance became clear to me.
فَطَفِقتُso I began مِنfrom ولهٍrapture بحبِّwith love of خِلالهِits virtues

So, enraptured by love of its virtues, I began,
So I became, out of yearning for the essence of his perfection,
After my seeking, to acknowledge and recite.
After calling me, acknowledging, singing his praises.
وإذاand when دخلتُI entered علىbefore سِواكَanyone but you فلاthen not أرىI see
فيon المُسندِthe seat المنصوبِraised الاexcept المُسنداthe seat
And when I come before anyone but you, I see nothing
And whenever I come before you, I see
On the raised seat except the seat itself.
On the sublime throne none but the Sublime.
