And a young gazelle—my body has been worn thin
With a glance he captivated my body
by his skittishness, though he is tame.

مُشرّداً وهو كانس
Through love of him, my mind has remained
Deprived my mind of reason
driven to wander, while he shelters in his lair.
Leaving it scattered, yet he seemed gentle

He gave my eyelid sleeplessness
His sleepy eyes brought rest
from his eyelid that feigns sleep.
To my watchful eyes

His glance struck my heart
from his glance, though he holds back.
Like an arrow, though he seemed bashful
