تَسافَهَتِgrew foolish الأَحلامُminds فيهاin it جَهالَةًout of ignorance
تَسافَهَتِ الأَحلامُ فيها جَهالَةً
وَأُضرِمَand was set ablaze فيهاin it كُلُّevery رَطبٍmoist وَيابِسِand dry
وَأُضرِمَ فيها كُلُّ رَطبٍ وَيابِسِ
Minds grew foolish there through ignorance,
and everything there, moist and dry, was set ablaze.

So restrain Khufāq from the folly of his judgment,
and his companion al-ʿAbbās, before calamities strike.
