فيon يَومِa day of غَيمٍcloud وَدُجَنand gloom
As though I were the summit of Ḥaḍan
on a day of cloud and gloom.

If only I were back in days gone by,
tossing my head and chin.

As though I were a stallion among horses,
let loose on a bridle-rope,

let loose like the frisky gazelle
that pressed one ear against the other.
