وَيَومَand on the day of شِباكِShibāk الدَومِal-Dawm دانَتsubmitted لِدَينِناto our rule
وَيَومَ شِباكِ الدَومِ دانَت لِدَينِنا
قُضاعَةُQudāʿa لَوif يُنجيcould save الذَليلَthe humbled التَحَوُّبُlamentation
قُضاعَةُ لَو يُنجي الذَليلَ التَحَوُّبُ
And on the day of Shibāk al-Dawm, to our rule submitted
Qudāʿa—if lamentation could save the humbled!
أُقيمَwas prepared لَهُمfor them بِالقاعِon the plain قاعِthe plain of بَلاكِثٍBalākith
أُقيمَ لَهُم بِالقاعِ قاعِ بَلاكِثٍ
إِلىto ذَنَبِthe tail of الجَزلاءِal-Jazlāʾ يَومٌa day عَصَبصَبُgrievously harsh
إِلى ذَنَبِ الجَزلاءِ يَومٌ عَصَبصَبُ
There was prepared for them on the plain, the plain of Balākith,
as far as the tail of al-Jazlāʾ, a day of dire hardship.
