O Khalid, Khalid of the lot-casters and the assembly,

and Khalid of the wind, when it blew with thin, rainless clouds,

and Khalid of word and deed by which one lives,

and Khalid of war, when it thronged with bands of warriors,

and Khalid of the caravan, when their journey quickened,

and Khalid of the clan, when provisions were grudged.
