23. Is there not in the land for the fallen ones like me
Stages between hopes and fulfilments?

24. They said you are estranged from the lands of Andalusia
Who can settle in disgrace and humiliation?

25. What are its plains to me? It was a house and I am tired
Of staying there with my horses and beauty

26. I shook off from the easy life there with my hands
Can the noble live among the stingy?

27. And how many lowly ones shunned me so I severed ties
When smoothness from my touch misled them

28. No one was saved from me when I bared

29. Today I fled from Salma to a moon
That dispelled the darkness that befell my state

30. It suffices me against the days of loss
I hurl it at time, I do not hurl my arrows

31. Neither with despair when time wastes me
Nor with arrogance in fertile times exalted

32. It has ethics of glorious love
One who asks to be excused, I am not the asker

33. People resemble it in evident virtue
Vast is the difference between pottery and chainmail

34. Oh you who are wronged by your days and so
Shepherds rubble and draws water from troughs

35. If you want to pluck ripe fruits from its gardens
Throw the necklaces on the cheeks of the beauties

36. For in the hand of the son of Ali is what provides you
Clouds of generosity that suffice every wish

37. As if the guest when he occupies its space
In a garden of the gardens of joy settled

38. How much have I attained without request or readiness
Of noble deeds that did not occur to my mind

39. I was not praising it when my words shook it
Except like the ecstatic woman's prolonged wailing

With the excellent and whole from righteousness and beauty

42. I carried heavy burdens, determined to avoid times
For the noble bears burdens

43. So take a eulogy, oh Abu Bakr, leading me
To the blossoms of stars and receive it humbly

44. The land of peace died of love's fires, scorched
When adorned by your felicity it became

45. Like aloeswood, perfumed after neglect
And it inherited the loftiness of your father the judge

46. Who became a partner in its nobility, most high
And all of you are a master nurturing a line

47. Of pure-blooded eminent masters, not fostered pups
Competing in their glories as if they are

48. Spear shafts of straight Khatai wood, polished
Oh days, sheathe every loose blamer

49. For there is no way to constrain my limbs
I have hired the auspiciousness of its leader

50. Firm in resolve, generous in pillar and ruins
If he appears to you in the council of his clan

51. You see the most wondrous dignity, not arrogant
When discourse turns to forbearance and nobility

52. None compares to the examples given of him
I dedicate to him each fragmentary ode

53. A spear for an unarmed man or jewelry for the bare
And God forbid that I accept compensation

54. While man fluctuates between exchange and replacement
Or that my hands would be placed in chains

55. Unless willingly, my purpose decided, my limbs fettered
As for fasting, I have performed its duty

56. And did not neglect it, squandered or neglected
And if Ramadan turns away from your joy

57. And passes, fulfilled by the fortunes of Shawwal
I do not seek the crescent of Fitr, I watch for it
